Your first lesson

A plan you can use.

Start at our Eugene facility or meet virtually, whichever you prefer. We’ll get to know you and your dog, set goals, and start practicing.

After this initial session, your trainer will recommend a personalized training path. You’ll leave with practical notes and skills to work on together.

Then, train where life happens.

Follow-up lessons can take place in your home, around town, at your veterinarian’s office, at our facility, or virtually—wherever supports your goals and your dog’s learning.

Your goals. A plan that fits.

Private lessons are ideal for families who want a customized plan with a flexible schedule.

Personalized coaching

Leash pulling, jumping, coming when called, or puppy routines—we focus on what matters to your family.

Flexible scheduling

Book individual appointments rather than a weekly class series. Plan follow-ups around your schedule and your dog’s progress.

Real-life practice

After your initial session, work on skills at home, around town, or at your vet’s office—with a trainer in your corner.

Every dog can learn.

New puppy, energetic teenager, or older dog—it’s never too late to build skills together. If training hasn’t clicked, we’ll help you make learning clearer and more rewarding. Our force-free approach teaches practical skills while supporting your dog’s comfort and confidence.

We follow the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior’s recommendation to use reward-based methods for everyday training and behavior concerns. Read the AVSAB humane training statement (PDF).

Looking for behavior support?

Fear, lunging, aggression, or safety concerns call for a behavior specialist. We’ll help you find support that fits those needs.

Good to know.

What if my dog seems untrainable?

Struggling to learn doesn’t mean your dog can’t learn. We’ll look at what motivates them, what feels difficult, and how to break skills into achievable steps. If fear, anxiety, or safety concerns are getting in the way, we’ll help you connect with our behavior team.

Can we train at home?

Yes. Your initial session takes place at our Eugene facility or virtually, if you prefer. After that, your trainer can work with you at home, around town, at your veterinarian’s office, at our facility, or virtually.

Can insurance help pay for private lessons?

Embrace’s optional Wellness Rewards membership includes manners and obedience training; it is separate from insurance. Check your benefits before booking. Behavioral care has different requirements. Explore behavior care coverage.

Is this for puppies too?

Yes. Individual coaching can help with puppy routines, house training, crate comfort, and everyday skills.

What if I’m unsure which service fits?
