Each level in the Good Manners series is designed to help you and your dog grow together, with clear goals and steady progression. Whether you’re starting with basic manners or perfecting advanced skills, you’ll leave with the confidence and tools to thrive in everyday life.

DOG 1: TEEN SPIRIT

Teen Spirit is the first class in our Good Manners series for dogs 6 months and older. This foundational group class focuses on developing leash walking skills, using marker signals effectively, building reliable cues like recall and “leave it,” fostering relaxation around other dogs and understanding the basics of canine communication. Dogs and pet parents who pass our three-part Good Manners series earn the proud title of Training Spot Graduate!

DOG 2: MINDING MY MANNERS

Keep the momentum going with the next level in our Good Manners series. Continue to practice leash walking skills, relaxation, stay, “leave it,” focus around distractions, build reliable cues, and greet people politely (all four paws on the floor!).

Students who complete DOG 3: Mastering Manners and pass a skills assessment will become proud Training Spot Graduates, earning the skills and confidence for real-world success.

DOG 3: MASTERING MANNERS

The final step in the Good Manners series, this class fine-tunes skills to superstar status. Master reliable cues, advanced leash walking, shaping, polite greetings, and recall while building real-life skills. Dogs and their pet guardians who pass the skills in this course earn the ultimate title of Training Spot Graduate!

DOG 4 – Adventure Dog

Explore the outdoors and hike around Lane County while discovering some of the best dog-friendly trails. Learn essential skills like leash handling, “out” and “wait,” recall, when to leash or let your dog run free, managing dog-dog greetings (or opting out), and more—all while becoming a responsible trail steward.

DOG 4 – City Dog

Help your dog master the skills needed for confident and polite behavior in urban settings. This class focuses on navigating busy streets, polite greetings with dogs and people, leash walking in high-traffic areas, and relaxing at cafes, breweries, and shops. Equip your dog with the tools to thrive in city life while strengthening your bond!

DOG 4 – Therapy Prep

This 6 week advanced level course focuses on building reliable leash walking, polite greetings, relaxation (while the pet parent is working with or talking to another person), recall, and general good public behavior using training games and Canine Good Citizen preparatory exercises.

DOG 2 – Walk This Way

Take your leash-walking skills to the next level! This class focuses on fine-tuning your dog’s ability to walk politely by your side. You’ll practice stopping when you stop, maintaining focus while walking together, and incorporating sniff walks for enrichment. DOG 2 – Polite Greetings

Are your dog’s greetings a bit over the top? This class is perfect for pet guardians looking to teach their dogs how to say hi politely without the excitement and chaos. Whether your dog is an extrovert or an introvert, they have their own way of letting you know how they prefer to greet people. Learn how to teach your dog to stay with you or go say hi on cue, whether on leash or at the door, for stress-free and polite introductions. 🐾✨

DOG 3 – Tricks for Treats

Trick or Treat! Or, how about both? In our Tricks for Treats class you will be learning a variety of fun tricks that will help you with clicker & marker timing, building confidence in your dog and of course having fun learning a variety of new behaviors you can show off to your friends and family! In this 4 week course we will be talking about applying trick training with our four main concepts of training: Shaping, Capturing, Luring & Targeting.

DOG 4 – Training Games

This class will use fun games to strengthen leash walking, stay, recall around distractions, polite greetings, leave it (there may be hamburgers involved), and more. Have fun with your dog and listen to music, while developing reliable, strong behaviors in real-world situations. Skills learned in this class are fundamental building blocks for those interested in pursuing additional paths such as testing for Canine Good Citizen and preparing for Therapy work with their dogs.

Puppy School

Puppy Preschool

Puppies 8 to 13 Weeks

Calling all proud puppy parents! According to the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB), the best time to start puppy classes is between 7-8 weeks of age. Join us for four weeks of fun-filled learning, where our certified trainers will guide you through crucial early development stages. Your pup will enjoy playtime with new friends, learn to relax around others, practice attention skills, start leash walking, and more!

PUP 1: Puppy Foundations

Puppies 14 Weeks to 6 Months

Welcome to our special puppy foundation class! Here, you will lay the groundwork for your puppy’s successful development and training. Over this 6 week course, we’ll dive into essential skills such as walking calmly on a leash, polite greetings, leave it, wait, recall, and teaching calm interactions with other dogs. Get ready for a fun-filled and enriching experience as you and your puppy build a strong foundation together!
